New Light Ruins is a folk-rock trio whose music and lyrics are mostly inspired from their relationships and spiritual experiences. The three are long time childhood friends, who have also been in a progressive rock band together during their teens. Following the break-up of that band, Sterling Reed and Remy Remigio began informally writing songs together and built a repertoire of personal and intimate material; Remy as main-vocalist and Sterling as guitar and vocals. During a trip abroad to Israel and India in the summer of 2008, they found that their music was well received by Israelis and travelers, and were encouraged to continue to write and perform. Isaac Brickner was also a part of their travels to the east, and shortly after became the third to their trio as a third vocalist, guitarist, and percussionist. Each of them being Jewish people who believe in Jesus, their experience together in Israel and on to India made a deep impact on them. Their music serves as a commentary on their spiritual and relational journey on redefining “home”.
After self-recording and producing their debut album ‘Conquering Loman’(available on Amazon and iTunes), Sterling, Remy, and Isaac traveled abroad for half a year through the traveler scenes of Israel, India, Nepal, and Thailand playing on street corners and coffee shops, giving away their album and making friends. Following their return to the states they have recorded ‘You Are Home’, their story of self-discovery and spiritual-identity, and desire to share the peace and love they have found in Jesus through their music.('You Are Home' now available on Itunes)
