my goal is always to find the perfect balance between the experimental sounds that fascinate me, and the affecting, addictive power of a well-written melody. i like just getting swept away in it all, and i can never guess where it will take me.

unpredictable melodies
things that get chopped up (beats, samples, onions...)
mysterious lyrics
pretty vocal harmonies
electronics dirtied up through tubes and tapes
single note guitar lines
polyrhythms
things that don't change after four times

i dislike:
too many guitar chords
growling sounds
shredding
