For Listeners
hearts, reputation points, and levels
What are hearts?
A heart is equivalent to a vote of confidence. Listeners heart songs they like as a way to express their love for it.
Everyday, you're given an allowance of hearts for voting on songs. Each heart corresponds to a vote, and your daily heart allowance resets every 24 hours.
How do I heart a song?
Just click on the heart shaped button on the right hand side of each song. If you see a triangle instead of the heart, you need to convert over to the beta. To do so, go to your
settings->preferences and check the box labeled "use heart based reputation system (beta)".
How do I earn reputation?
The main way to earn reputation is by hearting good music. You'll gain reputation the more popular a song becomes after you heart it.
Besides hearting good music, you can also earn rep by inviting a friend equal to a few percentage of their reputation.
Can I heart a song more than once?
This depends on your level on thesixtyone. New users begin at Level 1
and are allowed to vote on a particular song only once until level 5. After reaching level 5, you can heart a song multiple times for each level you have.
What are levels?
Levels represent your skill or experience in choosing good music on
thesixtyone. Leveling up unlocks bonus features like the ability to heart a song more than once.
What do I get for each level?
For each level, you can give one more heart per song (past level five) and are given one additional heart to spend per day. The "revive" ability unlocks at level 10. More to come!
